Ireland’s Jordan Larmour nominated for World Rugby Breakthrough Player of the Year
The trophy was first presented when Ireland hosted Argentina in the November international series and has been played for on three occasions, including the two game Irish tour of Argentina in , with Ireland coming out on top each time. William Brown emigrated at an early age, at first to Philadelphia and then to Buenos Aires where he went on to be regarded as a national hero for his efforts in setting up and leading the Argentinian Navy. It is a great honour for both Mayo County Council and the Foxford Admiral Brown Society to be associated with the international trophy for a legendary figure both in East Mayo and throughout South America. Ireland already claimed the Six Nations earlier this year and will hopefully keep hold of the Admiral Brown Cup this weekend. In his hometown of Foxford, is a museum and a park dedicated to Brown, and in the capital city, Dublin, located on Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, is an imposing statue of the naval hero of Argentina. Ireland and Argentina have one of the newest rivalries in the world game, dating back to their first meeting in Since the two sides have met on 16 occasions.

Share This As old as the hills The Mulranny Goats have for generations looked down at the comings and goings of Mulranny village, occasionally visiting the streets, fields and indeed gardens. That all changed last weekend, when a team of scientists, cameramen and goat enthusiasts set out to establish whether this was the last of the Old Irish Goat herds. Now, the Mulranny Old Irish Goats are set to be shot to stardom: Weather hardy The Old Irish Goat is essentially a cold-weather goat that developed rapidly during a period of intense cold and poor nutrition.
The goat reflects its cold weather origins. It has a compact conformation, with short legs; a long face to warm the air in the nasal passages; a thick coat with under-wool to keep out the extreme cold; small ears to protect against frostbite; and a large belly to accommodate large quantities of nutritionally poor forage. In danger The Old Irish Goat has a popular association with the Burren, but sadly the breed is in dire straits there. Mass removal and cross breeding with improved goats, including Anglo Nubian and Swiss dairy goats, has reduced the Old Irish to less than 10 per cent of the population.
With those remaining being somewhat aged, their future is bleak. Saving the Burren Old Irish Goat requires enclosure and a major concerted effort. It is unlikely that an Old Irish Goat herd will ever again roam the Burren. His journey began 50 years ago, at 16 years of age, when he first studied feral goats.
I’m really depressed about this. You see, I’m just a web server Where does that leave me?! I mean, I don’t even know you. How should I know what you wanted from me?

It was led by Richard de Clare , called Strongbow due to his prowess as an archer. In , Henry arrived in Ireland in order to review the general progress of the expedition. He wanted to re-exert royal authority over the invasion which was expanding beyond his control. Henry successfully re-imposed his authority over Strongbow and the Cambro-Norman warlords and persuaded many of the Irish kings to accept him as their overlord, an arrangement confirmed in the Treaty of Windsor.
The bull encouraged Henry to take control in Ireland in order to oversee the financial and administrative reorganisation of the Irish Church and its integration into the Roman Church system. Henry was authorised to impose a tithe of one penny per hearth as an annual contribution.
Online Dating in County Mayo. County Mayo is Ireland’s third biggest county, which sits on the beautiful Western coastline of Ireland. The area is made up of clusters of little villages that are surrounded by stunning beaches and rugged mountains.
The two teams face each other at the Aviva Stadium on Thursday evening, when the year-old’s side go into friendly battle with his football hero sitting on the Republic bench as manager Martin O’Neill’s assistant. Leicester defender Evans grew up idolising the former Manchester United skipper, who left Old Trafford just months before he emerged from the ranks, but later handed him two hugely instructive loan spells during his time as Sunderland manager.
Asked what impact Keane had on his career, Evans said: He was the player I looked up to most when I was growing up as a United fan. He was the United captain and then I went on to play for him at Sunderland in two loan spells. I think, ‘Well, if Roy Keane was in this situation and things were tough, then he’d roll his sleeves up and continue fighting’.
He’s still got that hold on me! When you are a young player and making your way up, you always wonder as to whether you can make that next step up and it was the next progression for me at that time. I thought that I was going to be there for the season, but then word went around that Sunderland were interested and he was the manager. It was a great experience.
But from the first day I got there, they spoke about the chairman nearly every day. There’s such fondness for him and the things he was doing for the club. The squad were back at the National Stadium in Georgetown training this afternoon training beneath overcast, humid skies. So from my perspective it became about mixing it up with the bowlers and changing the fields to defend any way that we could.
